Berry nice!
Have you seen our new season fabrics?
If you feel like autumn has arrived early this year, you’d be right. Thanks to the long, hot, dry summer, trees have gone into survival mode and are shedding their leaves earlier than usual, while our native berries have been ripe since mid-summer. So it’s no wonder that our minds have been wandering to the rich autumnal shades that we wear on our bodies, especially as the mercury drops and we reach for those extra layers.
This season, we’ve got a handful of fabrics that have already arrived in our early drop, before more come along later in the year (you can already pre-order our new Nicole quilted fabrics on our website, for example). All of these have been picked with longevity in mind – we’ve gone for colours and prints that are always en vogue, and that will work well with the pieces you already have in your wardrobe.
So allow us to introduce you to the linens, cottons and corduroys that arrived in the studio last few weeks…
Berry Cord
Corduroy is always a winner in the colder months, giving you a little bit of extra warmth than a standard cotton fabric. We’ve chosen a beautiful berry shade, which never goes out of style and looks brilliant with classics like a plain white tee or a grey cashmere sweater, as well as all of the prints associated with the colder months such as tartan and, of course, your favourite all-season stripes.
Rosie wears our Amy barrel leg trousers in Berry Cord with our Patsy jacket in Sailor Stripe Denim. With their comfy elastic waist and slightly tapered silhouette, these trousers are one of our most popular styles.
Chocolate Linen
There’s nothing like the shade of rich hot chocolate brown to make you feel all cosy, just by looking at it! But the great thing about our Chocolate linen is that it’s a brilliant fabric all year-round. Linen keeps you cool in the summer and it’s a fantastic fabric to layer up in the colder months, too – just add a roll neck, thermal leggings (obvs), socks and chunky boots to this look come winter and you’ll be good to go.
Sas wears our Millie dress in Chocolate linen with long sleeves. Remember, because we make our garments to order, you can add or remove length from the hem to suit you.
Sailor Stripe Denim
Ahoy there! We can’t get enough of our new spin on denim – our Sailor Stripe. If you’re looking for a classic with a twist, this is the fabric for you. Our brand new Patsy jacket is the perfect lightweight option for early autumn, and you can layer a big winter coat over the top of it once it gets colder. We’ve not made any yet, but the thought of a matching stripy set is giving us all the feels – how about a Millie sleeveless top and a pair of Tilly tie trousers?
Rosie wears our Patsy jacket in Sailor Stripe Denim – collarless and with a tie-front and boxy shape, it’s a modern take on the classic denim jacket.
Canvas Floral Micro-cord
We’re not ones for saving our florals for spring and summer, so we love our Canvas Floral Micro-cord this season. Those zingy flowers really pop off the chocolate brown – this fabric would look great teamed with bright yellow or neon orange, as well as softer pinks and greens and, of course, more brown.
Sas wears our Amber wide leg cropped trousers in Canvas Floral Micro-cord with our Patsy jacket in Sailor Stripe Denim.
