Ready, Steady, Ship!
We’re so excited to introduce you to our new ready-to-ship collection! We’ve carefully sourced a selection of limited edition, deadstock and vintage fabrics, using them to create a small batch of beautiful garments. And they’re live on our website now!
Everything has been made in our full range of sizes where possible, but in some cases we have just one of each because the fabric run is so limited, so if you like what you see, don’t hang about to bag yourself a unique piece of Roake Studio history.
Here’s a rundown of the fabrics in our ready-to-ship collection and why we love them.
EcoVero™
Lenzing™ EcoVero™ is a type of viscose which is made sustainably from wood that is sourced from controlled or certified origins meeting FSC® or PEFC standards. It also uses less water and CO2 when it is produced. It feels amazing to wear, being incredibly lightweight and soft against the skin. Our EcoVero™ Watercolour and Paisley Peach prints are deadstock fabrics that we’re putting to good use.
Indian cotton
This fine muslin cotton is hand loomed using traditional highly skilled weaving techniques that have been practised in India for centuries. Its lightweight nature makes it a joy to wear, especially during the summer months, but we’ll be layering up and wearing it all year round, of course. These fabrics are so beautiful! Please note that any garments made from this and our Indian block print (below) will need to be washed separately with a handful of salt to set the dye for the first couple of washes.
Indian block print cotton
This delicate and pretty Indian block print has a gorgeous floral design, along with a colour palette that is super simple to incorporate with all your favourite accessories (we’ve had fun trying!). This one is very limited; it’s available in our classic Bonnie dress and a few pairs of our Amber shorts.
Heavyweight cotton
Our Violet and Cream Tartan cotton is actually a pair of vintage tablecloths that we’ve repurposed into new clothes. It’s a heavyweight cotton, which works really well for our Millie vest and Amber shorts. We’ve tweaked the design to have patch pockets at the back rather than our usual side pockets because we had to be imaginative with the amount of fabric we had to work with, and we think they look great!
