Can you introduce yourselves and your store and tell everyone a little about how your store came to be?

Hi, I'm Chloe Eastwood, owner and founder of 'Me and East'.

'Me and East' is a Lifestyle store in Totnes, Devon celebrating the beauty of Craft and Handmade. We champion independent makers and stock a large range of Ceramics, Jewellery, Textiles, Beauty, Cards, Print and lots more.

Having always studied Art and Craft growing up it has always been my passion and interest. I worked in Hospitality and Retail in Bristol and Devon for many years then in 2014 I studied Jewellery and Silversmithing at Plymouth College of Art. This is where the story really began making so many Maker friends and beginning my own work as a Jeweller. After graduating and gaining great experience through Markets and Exhibitions I then had the opportunity to take over my Husbands family shop in 2017 where 'Me and East' was born!

Can you give me some highlights of running your store?

Working with and selecting our makers brings me so much joy. I also love curating the shop and making it a beautiful environment to be in.

How would you describe your brand in 3 words?

Considered, Supportive, Refined

What do you look for when searching for products to stock in the store?

I'm always looking for makers who create beautiful handmade products. I try to support makers who have small businesses or may be new to the Craft world helping to showcase them in a retail environment. Curation of aesthetics, colour and design is also a key element. The shop is neutral to create a calming and serene experience.

What are your future plans for your store?

Since 2021 my Husband and I are now running the business together as we have recently welcomed our Son to our family. We are working hard to continue making it a family run business and in 2022 we have an exciting event we will be a part of and we hope to continue growing the brand in as many ways as possible.
